Thiessen Team signs agreement to sell Rotary Drilling Business
to Atlas Copco
(Vancouver, B.C.) Thiessen Team has signed an agreement to sell its global Rotary & Raise Bore Drilling Group to Atlas Copco Inc. Atlas Copco is a leading global
supplier of mining equipment and consumables, and the acquisition will bring a
complementary product line into their product offering.
Thiessen Team is a key supplier to the mining industry in Canada and around the
globe for over fifty years, and passes on to Atlas Copco a proud legacy of quality,
reliability and integrity.
Thiessen Team operations will continue as they are now and Thiessen Team contacts
will remain the same for customers, distributors and suppliers. The new Company
will likely be called Atlas Copco Thiessen.
Our Thiessen Equipment business of sales and service of BTI breakers, booms and
mobile equipment is not part of this sale, and we will continue to operate as usual
throughout Western and Northern Canada. Also, our Thiessen Team USA business is
not part of this sale, we will continue our business operations as usual in Nevada and
Montana, servicing our USA customers. We are committed to continuing our high
level of service and to growing our shotcrete business in the USA over the coming
years.
Thiessen Team USA operates a successful shotcrete manufacturing and sales
operation in the United States. They also apply shotcrete to underground raises
using a specialized robotic system, and are the Breaker Technology Inc (BTI)
representative in the Western States for mining.

Thiessen Team undergoes a rigorous assessment every 12 to 16 months in order to maintain Lean status. The assessment is conducted by The Consortium of Manufacturing Exellence (CME – BC) of which Thiessen Team is an active member.
Thiessen Team has several “Continuous Improvement Teams”. These Teams are empowered to uncover waste, design better processes, and monitor their effectiveness. Our Continuous Improvement philosophy strategically fits into our ISO program and enables us to provide the best service, quality and value to our customers.
