Thiessen Team and DYWIDAG-Systems International (DSI) are pleased to
announce the merger of Thiessen Team’s ground support business
into DSI’s ground support business in Canada and the United States.
DSI is a subsidiary of Walter Bau united with DYWIDAG, a German construction
firm that has been in business for 135 years. DSI is a multi-national firm
successfully doing business around the world since 1967. DSI Canada was established
in 1969, operating with divisions in the Vancouver and Toronto areas.
DSI activities cover almost all aspects of Civil Engineered Construction and
Mining. The DSI post-tensioning, geotechnical and mining systems are known
world wide for their innovation, quality and dependability. DSI’s Global
Mining Division has its head office in Newcastle, Australia with operations
in the Americas, South Africa and Europe.
Effective November 3rd 2003, the Thiessen Ground Support business in Canada
has operated as DSI-Thiessen Mining, a Division of DSI Canada. In the USA,
it operates as DSI Ground Support, USA.
The business will continue to operate from the existing locations. A number
of Thiessen employees have transferred to the new company. DSI-Thiessen Mining
has become a key element of DSI’s global mining business and reports
to the CEO of DSI’s global mining business.
Although the name may have changed we can assure you that the management, staff
and employees of DSI-Thiessen Mining as well as DSI Ground Support USA are
committed to maintaining the high level of service, technological innovation
and product quality that has made Thiessen Ground Support products a respected
supplier in the Canadian and US Mining Industry.
